Suffering is a difficult topic to think about…

Most of us don’t really want to think about suffering and we find it even harder to address the issues of death and dying.

We all know it is inevitable for all of us but most of us are not prepared for the world of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia that we now live in.  This makes it essential to have a deep understanding of death and dying as it impacts our lives, relationships with others, and God and how it impacts our whole society.

TOPICS:
  • END OF LIFE ISSUES
  • THE MEANING OF HUMAN SUFFERING
  • SUFFERING FOR THE PERSON OF FAITH
  • THE POWER OF HUMAN PRESENCE AND HOW WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • WHAT IS AT STAKE
  • PASTORAL ASPECTS OF DYING HEALED WITH PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR BEING PRESENT TO THOSE WHO SUFFER

Presenters:

Deborah Larmour (Eparchial Family and Life Office) and Jackie Saretsky (Pastoral Services Director, Diocese of Saskatoon)
